Healthy Lifestyle InitiativeRHI Legacy Foundation and Carolina Foothills Foundation awarded grants to help develop healthy lifestyles programs. These partnerships are allowing UMLC to offer no-cost cooking classes to the public. This will involve hands-on food preparation and instructor led discussions on the benefits of leading a heathy lifestyle.
Social gathering opportunities will also be offered to the community in the near future. Events will include time to participate in games, exercise, building puzzles, computer time in the media center, and other instructional classes as scheduled. |
Tutoring Services for grades 6-12Union Mills Learning Center was proud to partner with Reaching Rutherford/Blueridge Hope to offer tutoring sessions.
This was a very successful and enjoyable learning experience for all involved. The students were offered individual tutoring and discussions on current world issues to bring awareness to their lives. |
Other NewsUMLC board members are proud to be a part of preserving the history of the community. We also search for opportunities to enrich the lives of our present and future residents. The facility is home to the Union Mills/ ASI Historical Center, which is open to the public.
